Old Fashioned Oatmeal Fudge Bars

Ingredients

  • 6 oz Chocolate Chips nowadays this is half a pack
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk 14 ounce can
  • 3/4 cup walnuts optional/if desired
  • 1 cup butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 3 cups quick cooking oats can sub Old Fashioned

Instructions

  • Heat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Melt chocolate chips and melt the butter in the sweetened condensed milk over low heat in a saucepan. Stir in nuts if using and set aside.
  • Cream the 1 cup of butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar.
  • Mix in both eggs.
  • Stir in dry ingredients (can use the mixer).
  • Press two-thirds of mixture into a 9x13 pan.
  • S[read chocolate mixture and crumble the last third oat mixture evenly over the chocolate.
  • Bake 30 minutes or until golden brown. Cool; cut into bars

Notes

If you are Celiac, you just need to replace the oats with gluten free oats. From there it will be Gluten Free.
