Trying to stay in a keto way of eating can be difficult if you don’t have your set places to buy from. For most people Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods work for that. But not all of us can be rich folks with gold toilets. Walmart can also be a place to find some gems. Being a mom and a home body, I don’t always get the chance to drive the 35 minutes to the neared TJ’s and Whole Foods. Maybe once every few months and when I do go, I tend to get some bulk items, or canned things I can’t normally get.
I have been a Prime member for well over 5 years and I have been a member of Amazon since college. We have a long and committed relationship and we are both very happy. If I can buy it on Amazon, I would rather buy it there than try to find it in a store.
When looking at the places that you shop for your keto items, they tend to satisfy different things. Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods can fill similar needs for those more specialty items. Walmart and your regular grocery store is for meat and produce. Amazon is for the snacks or the items that last quite a while.
This is a list that I have built up of items that I buy regularly on Amazon that fit perfectly into the keto way of life.
Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil – This one is a must for cooking and making fat bombs. I use it as well when I make hot chocolate
Stevia Drops – Use this as a no calorie sweetener for coffee, oatmeal, baking, and drinks. They can be pretty expensive for certain brands, but they last forever.
Flavor God seasoning – This product is not advertised as low carb, they just happen to the Walden Farms of seasoning. They don’t really have any nutritional facts about them but they taste pretty good. They have a lot of bulk deals and pack deals on their website.
Beef Jerky – Most beef jerky sold is stores has a flavoring on them, which usually has sugar in it. Amazon has a lot of brands that they sell that are just smoked and no flavorings are added. People’s choice is a really popular brand.
Canned Tuna – These are a great canned item that lasts forever and a great food item in a pinch when you don’t have much meat in the fridge.
Almond Flour – This is another must if you plan to try baking yourself or making pancakes.
ChocZero – A great chocolate snack that only has one carb per square. They are about the size of a Ghiradelli square and they taste really good. They are sweetened with monk fruit.
Quest Bars – These are a nice to have on hand option. You will need to try these first as they can affect certain people that eat them and cause a “stall”. They don’t bother me, but I do feel if I eat a couple regularly that I crave sweets a bit.
Carbquik – I have a box but I have not used it yet. It is supposed to be treated just like flour and their website has a lot of recipes for cinnamon rolls and cakes. Some say they taste something odd but others really like it.
Magnesium Supplement – Keto eating requires a lot of balancing of electrolytes and a lot of people opt to supplement. I take one of these everyday.
Potassium Gluconate – Same goes for this supplement. I take one a day to keep the headaches away.
Premier Protein – This is currently a bit of a fad in a lot of the keto Facebook groups. They can purchased at Walgreens, Costco, and possibly Sam’s Club. I have tried the chocolate flavor and they are good, but most really like the Caramel and Bananas N’Cream.
Walden Farms Syrup – Just buy it. The regular syrup and the blueberry syrup are delicious. I use this when I make my Keto oatmeal and it is perfection.
Sugar Free Coffee Syrup – It seems to be harder and harder to find coffee syrup in store let alone sugar free coffee syrup. I just buy 6 in bulk and use those as part of my Subscribe and Save with Amazon.
Erythritol – This sugar substitute is amazing for baking and it does not spike your blood sugar at all. It acts just like sugar but it has no carbs and it does not leave a weird after taste like a lot of sugar alcohols do.
Pork Rinds – I know it seems crazy but I love buying the giant jug of pork rinds. They taste really good and they last a long time. I use them for nachos, tacos, or to add crunch to any dish.
Blue Diamond Almonds – If I could buy stock in Blue Diamond Almonds, I just might. The Bold Sriracha are the best in my opinion and they only have 2 net carbs per serving. I buy as many as I can when they are on sale.
