Has Pinterest blocked your site as spam? This happened in the 2nd week of my blogging endeavor and I totally feel your pain. It can really put a hiccup in your motivation and it can definitely kill the momentum that you have worked really hard getting started. BUT, it was not the end of the world. Because I was no longer able to pin and NEW pins, I just made a sheet of all the posts that have not been pinned yet so that when I was released from Pinterest prison that I had something to start back with.
This is what you need to do in order to get unblocked as soon as possible, which will still take too long.
When you get blocked as spam, you have to go to their helpless help center and see if you did any of the things that might get you blocked. The only thing I can think of was that I might have pinned too quickly as I was working on a Facebook thread or that I pinned one of my posts too quickly in too many of my own boards. But at the end of the day, you don’t know why and they won’t tell you why.
As you know, Pinterest is very clever in that they have customer service, but they don’t have a phone number or a real customer support line. Everything has to go through their helpless help center. You basically have to say that none of the suggestions resolved my issue and you have to message them. And message them. And message them. Over and over….and over again. I was getting emails about whether or not I was happy with my support before I even got any support. Then I responded to the happy with my support emails saying I was unsatisfied over and over again.
You really need to be obnoxious and email them through their helpless help center as many times as it takes until you get a response back.
I ended up messaging them through their Helpless Help Center (yes I am bitter) about 10 times. I tweeted at them about 5 times with no response. I posted their Facebook posts about 5 times with no response.
I did end up getting an email about a week into my prison sentence that literally verified my website and asked if I can’t see the pins. Not kidding. I waited a week for one question response. I gave every bit of information in the 10’s of emails I sent to them before so needless to say I was a tad bit pissed off. I responded back to that email as I was told and got no response. Yesterday, after another week, I ended up getting really frustrated and kind of spammed them by responding a couple times to the same email with as much information as I could and pleaded and begged for them to unblock my site.
I finally got an email apologizing and that it can happen accidentally and that they unblocked my site. They did not actually unblock it and I had to email back again and say that it did not get unblocked, which finally finished with another email from the same person apologizing again.
I almost sang a song when I could finally pin a new pin. HALLELUJAH!
At the end of the day don’t feel bad or guilty for being obnoxious and messaging them over and over. They are here for you and they would not be here if not for you.
